Male or female aerial on New Samsung TV- broken?

    Hi Folks

    I recently (2 weeks ago) bought a Samsung Smart TV from Harvey Norman and plugged the aerial into it like usual. The cable has now fallen out and won't stay/work unless I physically hold it in place and I'm wondering if I had the wrong aerial in it all along or if its faulty? Looks like Male Coax aerial that I am using (like a pin) but tv receiver kind of looks like a female receiver? Any advice would be appreciated.

    The TV connection should be like the one marked 'IN' in this pic (hollow centre pin):
