You will have a group meeting with the seetec people and rep from social welfare.
You will have to attend for 12 months if you remain on a Jobseeker's payment.

Same as, except I think they only look after Dublin

They do the same thing as Turas Nua, they just do it in a different region of the country. I think they cover Leinster and Ulster. Turas Nua covers Munster and Connaught....After checking the Turas Nua website I see that DSP appoints Turas Nua to deliver JobPath services in Cork Central, the South East, Mid-Leinster, the Mid-West, South West and Midlands South...The rest of the country must then be covered by seetec.

They've been around just as long, I was with them 2 years ago (Mayo). They share the tender I think.

This was taken from the seetec website...Seetec is the prime provider for JobPath in the Dublin, Border, and West regions and parts of the Mid-East and Midlands regions.

How long are you on Jobseekers OP?
Are you available for full time work?

I got called to seetec last week. My appointment was at 11 am and was told it would last 2-3 hours, I had no problem staying that long once I knew how long I was expected to be there for.

One hour in I was told to come back 3 hours later. I had other plans that day. I advised them I'm here now and I'm happy to stay as I can't come back today. I was basically accused of making excuses. Little disappointed as being unemployed doesn't necessarily mean you are just sitting at home doing nothing all day.

If the OP wasn't available for full time work then they wouldn't qualify for a Jobseeker's payment.

When people get referred to Seetec/TN it’s often revealed that they’re not available for full time work and so are not on the right SW payment.
    People are:
    1. Sick and should be on a Disabilty payment
    2. Caring for someone and should be on Carers
    3. Minding small children alone should be on OPFP
    4. Minding children while self or partner on low income or parting wages should be on FIS
    5. Doing a full time course of education should be on BTEA
That’s why I asked. Not everyone on JSA actually knows the rules because it’s not explained in enough detail when you sign on.

I’m going down to my local sw office tomorrow but just wondering if any one knows plz ?? Thanks

No, you haven’t got a full time job so you will still have to go to Seetec.
Do not ignore Seetec as your payment will stop once they notify SW that you’re not engaging.
If your going to be working 20+ hours per week the option is there for you to sign off the JSA completely, claim FIS instead and also apply for the Family Dividend.
Sign off JSA and there is no more signing on and no more Seetec.
