hydraulic jack ram is stuffed, want to bypass (disconnect) and leave air flap open. Is there a bung available to plug the connection on the back of the riello oil pump? If so whats its proper name or what is the thread size so i can get one. this is for my parents burner, and they are 70 miles away, so i cant just pop over and check specs myself. Any help greatly appreciated.
    Steve

Not much help I know, but would you not just fix it. From memory there are only two different ram sizes and they are cheap.

hi Needles73, yes its the short ram jack riello part 3020500. but the copper tube is also damaged due to some ill advised third party repair attempts! there seem to be a couple of different pipe shapes/lengths and its about the same price as the ram, so i was just gonna plug the pump where the pipe connects. I'm 70 miles away from the burner so I don't wanna turn up with the wrong pipe, or if I do, I want to have a fall-back plan - ie the bung/plug for the pump.
    Cheers
    Steve.

Actually, if anyone has recently changed out a riello pump, the old one may have the stopper fitted if it was a burner without the hydraulic ram. It would be worth a tenner plus postage to me!!

Seeing as it such an expensive replacement, I always leave the old one with the customer, sort of proof of having really changed it. I have salvaged stems and a few plugs, but while I can instantly lay my hands on the stems, the plugs ( and pressure adjusters are not where I thought they were :(

What if it's a corner type connection pipe to ram, plug won't do.

    OP
Like Jim, I keep (collect) spare plug's for the back exit ram pipe.

Or I disconnect pipe, cut it half way along it. Flatten well 2" of small pipe and fold over itself 4 times and flatten. Re fit pipe with end sealed off.

Easy when you know how or can sort it if you need.
I know how and carry enough stock If not successful first time.
    Washers and old pipes.
