(Law) Question on knife ownership

So I've been in need of a new knife, my wife does some gardening, and I need a knife for carpentry work due to my construction related job. I checked around and I couldn't find any good knives that suit me. So I'm wondering if it is legal to own a pocket knife, it has to be sharp with a blade that's around 2 inches at least, and I have to be able to open and close it for safety reasons. Would it be legal for me to order one from let's say Amazon, have it delivered here and just keep it at home? Would there be any legal issues with the transaction or ownership?

Hope I posted in the right place, apologies if not.
