Hi I have 17k to spend on an MPV. Can go to max 19k

Two adults and three children, all kids over the age of 5 and tall. One adult 6ft1 so space in drivers side a must!

Looks wise no so important, space and reliability top priority.

If any current owners out there of MPV can inform me what's good/bad models?petrol or diesel?

What dealers are offering a good cash price at moment? or scrappage deal?

Thanks in advance, based in Dublin so looking to buy there.

It does depend on what size your kids are and do you plan on getting a 5 or 7 seater.

From my experience, I would go bigger now and save a few quid. We had a qashqai, was ok for 2 kids but we knew we would have more so swapped it for a SMAX. It was an older model SMAX and I got it cheap to see how I liked it. It was a great car, really great to drive for a MPV and space was great. My brother and friends have 5008/Touran and you would really notice that little bit of extra space.

We planned to swap the car after a year or 2 so when we swapped it the decision was to go that bit bigger. So we bought Galaxy, a UK import to get all the extras. The other option was Alhambra which was also great, the sliding door was a massive plus but the one we wanted was sold when we went to pick it up....and we couldn't find another one. Not with the mileage etc we wanted second hand. To get import would cost another 2k and we couldn't really push that far

The Galaxy is great for space, I had 6 full size adults in it with a baby in car seat. Using the back 2 seats for adults. It is not as good a drive as the SMAX, that extra size means you do have to take it easier on roads, the SMAX you could nearly drive similar to car.

If I was going again I would buy the Alhambra if going for space.....if I could get away with a bit less space then another SMAX would be perfect.....

I go automatic on everything so that is why it is harder to find....

As mentioned by brother has 5008, 12 reg, he has done 100k miles in it without any massive problems, he does say it feels like clutch is going now. the back 2 seats like a lot of those 7 seaters are really only for kids.

    that any help?
