    It used to be good.
Though if you dare to criticise Islam you will get banned.
All threads mentioning Islam are usually deleted.

I always thought digital spy was primarily for discussing entertainment media and not just life in general?

Pretty good, though the current forums software is poor (if not quite as awful as when it was first implemented). Not noticed any mod bias myself I have to say - plenty of loons posting though.

I always thought Digital Spy was for "'ey 'up chuck" type people who think characters in soaps are real?
Is that "gay celebrities" thread going strong still? They must have named everyone at this stage.

I sometimes post on the general discussion section of digital spy. Most of the posters are decent and cordial though there are a few idiots. Much like most internet discussion forums. The one thing that strikes me about digital spy posters compared to boards is how many live alone and have little to no contact with their family. That’s sad. :(

Then there are a couple of posters who distinctly have a “little Englander” mindset and don’t like the Irish - or any non- English - very much.

There are a few Irish posters on digital spy.

It's a dump that doesn't allow open discussion.

And on the BBC forum they have paid BBC posters on it defending the BBC to the hilt.

You mean they actually have real lives instead of being wed to their phones? :D

I used to post there fairly regularly when $ky were taking their encryption off the BBC channels. It’s fair to say there were a lot of proto-Brexiteers not wanting the forreigns getting their hands on the Precious. If you dig into the BBC and politics forums I can assure you many posters are as far from lefty as you could possibly get.

Sounds about right for people still using anonymous bulletin boards in 2017......

Good few nutjobs on DS alright, I was called racist because I thought the movie Get Out was overrated. The music forum is overwhelmingly skewed towards trashy pop acts, e.g. The Saturdays and Steps are held in very high esteem. As has already been mentioned, there's certainly been an anti-Irish feel on it in at times, a lot of people on there seem to be of the impression that Anglo-Irish tensions began with the IRA bombing England and nothing happened before that. Most United Ireland threads quickly descend into anarchy. I've been a member of DS for years though, but nowadays I only post in the tennis thread, which I find excellent.

    Yes. The Broadcasting Forum.

I'd say it's pretty similar to After Hours. Maybe a slightly older average age amongst posters, but the discussions would be fairly similar. You don't get as much banal 'humour' derailing threads before they get going as you do on here, but otherwise not much difference.

I agree with a previous poster about the number of people on DS who seem to live very isolated lives, having little or no contact with family or neighbours and no real friends. You realise it at this time of year when people are posting about their Christmas plans and quite a few are planning to spend it alone or not mark it at all. It's only a minority of forum members, but you don't really see that on Boards.
