I'm really good at Physics but bad at Math?

I'm really good at Physics (HL) and I can do all the maths in it but I struggle with Maths (HL)

Is this odd? I do AP Maths as well and I find that to be pretty doable but Maths is just a whole different story.

I’m the exact same. Can wrap my head around physics but I’m bad enough at normal maths. Applied maths is hard too

The Maths used in LC Physics isn't exactly the most challenging, compared to what you'd face with LC HL Maths.

Just keep practising papers for Maths and you'll get it.

Saying that, I got a D1 in LC HL Maths and I'm now going into my final year of a Physics course with a 2.1 so, if you work hard enough you'll get there!

You only ever need basic algebra to do well in Physics. HL Maths covers far more areas. Seems like they're what you need to work on (geometry, trigonometry, etc)

LC Physics is more about concepts and problem solving. They're very important skills but the maths used in the subject in school is not too difficult. If you want to continue to study Physics or anywhere in STEM in 3rd level, you will need to get good at most of the maths you're seeing at Leaving Cert. It can be challenging, be it's a very worthwhile skill to master both in the short term (your exams) and in the future (college and beyond). :)

If you want to continue to Physics at 3rd level and complete to a reasonable standard, maths does become much more important than in secondary school. The good news though is that maths used in physics makes sense (if you get me). Vector calculus is perfect for describing electromagnetics etc.

Practice, practice, practice and see if you perhaps find a good grinds teacher
