    Hi all,

Considering getting an X class Mercedes for work.

Does anyone know if any Mercedes dealers in Ireland do part finance / PCP for businesses?

Buying it via my limited company.

Have around 15,000 to put up front.

Has it even gone on sale yet? PCP is normally aimed at the private buyer rather than the commercial/business buyer.

How much are Mercedes charging for it given it's just a rebadged Nissan Navara?

It's a bit more than a rebadged Navara to be fair even though it's based on it.

I don't know, they seem to share more in common than they don't other than some Mercedes interior trim and a few engine options that probably won't be offered here anyway. I can understand the Mercedes image being important to some types of businesses though.

Engine, chassis and running gear all in common. Some interior trim too. Body is wider and front is completely different. I'd say it's 2/3 Navara.

To be fair though, the Mercedes commercial range isn't known for overtly cashing in on the appeal of the passenger range, and oddly the fact that Mercedes do vans and trucks doesn't seem to make Mercedes cars less desirable - it's a funny one.
This is a new market for them though, and should probably be successful given our silly VRT/VAT/BIK anomaly when it comes to crewcabs vs passenger cars.

Besides sure the Sprinter was also a VW Crafter, and the Citan is a rebadged Kangoo so they have form!

Sure half their new car sales are Renault powered.

Dunno about the new navaras but the reputation of their ones splitting in two would but me off anything to do with something associated with them

Also the Renault Alasken is the same. I suppose its whichever one you like best and don,t mind buying or paying for. Some people will buy the Merc because of the badge not knowing its basically a Renault/Nissan underneath and some of the engines are too.

I have never seen and Mercedes Citans here plenty of Kangoos do so some people are not fooled so easily and know by buying the Citan they are just being charged more for a badge.

Honestly I’m at 2 minds between the Mercedes x class and the VW Amarok.

I’ve driven an Amarok numerous times and I love it.

Regarding the X class being 2/3 Nissan Navara, doesn’t bother me. They are also solid.

You can avail of regular HP finance but not PCP unfortunately. If you would like any info on them let me know

The navara is not much cheaper though is it. If you spec it up to Mercedes spec how much of a premium would you be paying for the badge?

Depends on what you're comparing. The 4*4 160bhp Navara is €35k including VAT. The Mercedes is €43k. Nissan are also doing 5 year warranty and €5000 scrappage. Not sure which is better specced but I don't expect the base model X Class to be overly well equipped.
It's a bit like comparing a Jetta and an A3 saloon. They're basically the same thing (granted they don't share a platform) but you don't buy for the same reason (no disrespect to the OP)

Oops, looked at the price of the merc without vat and the Nissan with and thought there was only 2k in it. I am not looking at buying either so I was only glancing. Thanks for the good answer.

Leaning more towards the Amarok thanks lads.

I'll probably do a few test drives in the X class and see what I think.
