Wallace noted in his letter that, in general, the trading profits of companies in Ireland are subject to corporation tax at 12.5pc, while the rental profits of companies are subject to corporation tax at the higher rate of 25pc. In the case of Reits, the politician informed the European Commission that their rental profits are exempt from corporation tax.

    delighted.
they've undoubtedly contributed to the rising sales & rental prices.
no doubt some gob****e in NAMA whispering in governments ear helped their entry to this market.

never had much time for mick wallace but delighted he's lodged a complaint with the EU about them.
i'd love to know what short sighted eejits keep introducing these tax deductions for companies where the only beneficiaries are land holders & people who own property.
    Do they have no foresight?

It’s a pity it takes REIT to bankrupt you before a politician acts

To.be fair to Wallace, for all his faults, including the bankruptcy and all that,he has consistently brought to attention topics that have snowballed and showed up corruption on a wide wide scale in this country that shocks and angers the country, but only after a considerable time and one if the established political parties picks up what he has been saying and runs with it.

A prime example would have been the Maurice McCabe case where he was bringing it up for months and months in.the dail and getting slapped down, then fianna fail started in to it and it started getting nation wide media coverage and has nearly and probably should have brought down the government and caused a root and branch of the national police force, well it really should have.

TBH, if you're paying tax in Ireland - you're doing it wrong.
