I'm putting in an outside socket for use with christmas lights. I need to drink hole to feed cable for socket through to be plugged in to an inside socket. I tried drilling through the wall but drill bit got caught in fibreglass insulation and pulled the drill abd caused it to drill sideways through the plasterboard. Any advice on how I can drill through without this happening?

Open up a little more of the plaster board and push back the insulation. If you can see a cement joint it will be easier to drill. Make sure to drill down at a slight angle, to stop water ingress...

I'm concerned about the socket at this point if you are difficulty drilling the hole. What cable and socket are you using what's it connected to internally? Is someone else doing the electrical work

It's a double socket that's housed in water proof and frost proof box with 2 meter cable that's plugged in to inside socket

What's a frost proof box? Never heard of one.

I'd guess its just the standard IP66 external twin switched box like this one

Make sure you check that there are no cables behind the wall before you start drilling otherwise you could be toasted.
