I need help! I need to get a Christmas gift for my 10 year old god daughter and her 8 (almost 9) year old sister. Usually I would ask their mother but she in turn just asks them and I'd rather surprise them with something unexpected this year. I know god daugter doesn't like vouchers (even though I think her mother talked her into getting vouchers off me the last 2 years :D) so they re out.

    Any ideas?

She does ballet and Irish dancing but I think Santa might be bringing some Irish Dancing items.

8yo does gymnastics and Irish dancing also, very athletic, loves unicorns and Harry Potter (I've already got her a lovely unicorn notebook). She will probabkly be the easier of the two to buy for.

Budget for each is about €25-€30

    Help!

    Thanks :D

For the eight-year-old gymnast Ikea do folding gymnastics mats that are €25 at the moment, might be a bit bulky though! Other ideas would be a good skipping rope, hula-hoops, or a moonhopper ball. Penneys have loads of cheap Harry Potter stuff at the moment too.

For the ten-year-old, what about a nice bag for her dance gear? If she likes her music maybe she could do with headphones - your sister might thank you for it too :)

When in doubt, books or art supplies are always a great go-to I find.

I think Santa may also have sourced some Harry Potter items in Penneys but I've seen something elsewhere now that might suit. God bless online shopping!

The dance bag is a great idea, thanks!

If they like music how about mp3 players? Argos have some reduced at the moment

This might sound weird but my Goddaughter is 9 and she, and all her friends, are obsessed with making homemade slime. Its a new phenomenon, it was even on the Late Late Toy Show.
So she has asked me for supplies to make some. This will include some PVA glue, air freshener, shaving foam, food colouring, and glitter.

Probably a bit too late for you now, but just in case you're looking for ideas! :)

Crazy, isn't it?! All the high tech super modern toys on the market and they want to make their own goo. More power to them, its nice to see a bit of creativity, even if it does wreck the kitchen table :o

Oh the 8 year old buys a tub of slime in Tiger every chance she gets :D

Thanks for all the replies, I think I am sorted now - provided the dance bag I bought arrives before Friday! Got some Harry Potter items plus a unicorn notebook for the 8 year old.
