Hi, How long is it before a direct debit to a Bank of Ireland savings account is retried after the initial claim fails?

    Hi redmgar,

    Thanks for your message.

On the day that your direct debit is due, the payment will retry throughout the day if you do not have the funds in your account to cover it in the morning. Are you looking to see if the direct debit will go out on another day if it went unpaid on the day it was due?

    Thanks,
    Sarah

    Hi redmgar,

The direct debit for a savings account won't represent. It will continue on as normal the following month but won't try to take the missed savings amount.

    Thanks
    Tara

    Hi redmgar,

All SEPA Direct debits work the same way. They will present to your debiting account the throughout the day its due, and finish at 4pm.
If there are insufficient funds, and a cash lodgement has been made before this time, it should leave your account as normal.
If not, it will go unpaid and wont present again until the following month.

Please let us know if we can help with anything else.

    Thanks again, Jane
