    Hello boarders,
So I am booked to go on hols to Thailand, departing next Saturday. Tuesday evening I got severe foot pain out of nowhere, could not walk or put any weight on it. Went to doc on Wednesday morning, sent for x Ray, nothing showed up as broken. I am now in a support boot and on crutches. My doc has referred me for an MRI so just waiting to be called for that. I have health and travel insurance. I am really really hoping my foot gets sorted over the next week as we have being looking forward to this trip all year!
My travel insurance covers cancellation up to 5k for cancellation due to "You dying, becoming seriously ill or being injured" I would be in the injured category i suppose.
Fingers crossec my foot will be sorted before tge trip, but at the same time I am pretty worried that we may need to cancel the trip.
Has anyone been in a similar position? What should I do?

Get your doctor to write you a letter, if you are not fit to fly then the insurance will reimburse you for costs.

I would call your medical situation an 'illness' if, as you say, it came 'out of nowhere'. The problem with calling it an 'injury' is that your travel insurance may decide that you should claim from someone else if you acquired an 'injury' which prevented you from travelling.

Don't give them an excuse to bounce your claim.
