Grundfos Pump STN 2.0B (Irl) problem

    Hi all,

I have the above pump connected to a ensuite (so shower and sink) to pump hot water. It is only about 3 years old but has been used very little since it is a spare room. It stopped working a few months ago and I am only getting around to doing something about it now.
When it stopped it just made a quiet humming noise constantly so I turned off the power. I tried it again today and it was doing the same thing but the stopped the humming noise. I left it for about 10 mins and when I came back I could get a smell from it and the main body of the pump was getting quite warm so turned it off again.

I had been looking at posts trying to see if someone else had a similar issue but could not see any.

My hope is that it is just a capacitor problem which I could replace, but just wanted to check with you guys to see if anyone had a different opinion of had seen this before?

    Thanks
