Logbook - Trading in old car

    Hi

We're trading in our old car and picking up the new one early in the NY. I've sold cars before (in the UK and one here) and have always dealt with the logbook, posting it off straight away.

But what happens to the logbook for the old car? Obviously, I will need to present it as we trading in the car, but what happens next in this instance?

    TIA :)

The dealer will keep the logbook.

Great, thank you! I figured that the logbook would need to be handed over, but wasn't sure if I had to sign and post it or if the dealer dealt with that.
