Salvaging Buckfast

Sometimes Kris Kindle doesn't pan out in your favour. How do you salvage getting a bottle of Buckfast? Know of any baked goods or (tasty) cocktails that it works as an ingredient in?

I wouldn't use it for cooking myself, never know I suppose.

That site made me feel genuinely queasy.

The concept of Buckfast being some sort of "get messed up on the cheap drink" has always confused me, maybe it is cheaper in scotland but I never viewed it as a "cheap dipsos/winos drink" which it is portrayed as.

In tesco it is 13.99 https://shop.supervalu.ie/shopping/wine-beer-spirits-other-fortified-dessert-wines-buckfast-tonic-700-millilitre-/p-1011704000

at a mere 14.8% it is relatively very expensive seeing as a bottle of vodka is 13 in tesco or other places. A 2L of mixer can be got for 50c if price is a concern -as would tie in with the sneering about buckfast.

It's more complicated. The alcohol content is not the point; it's how quickly and easily you get drunk for your dollar :(

White cider, Buckie, British sherry all get you drunk quick 'n' cheap(ish). Maybe that vodka keeps you topped up afterwards. Fairly sure mixers are irrelevant.

if my goal was to get to a certain blood alcohol level in the quickest time, vodka would definitely be my choice. It will get you drunk quickly, easily and cheaper than buckfast. It is not complicated at all.

I only mentioned mixers as it should be included in the price of the vodka, and even with it factored in it is much cheaper than drinking buckfast.

They are also relevant since studies show drinking spirits with diet mixers actually leads to you getting a higher blood alcohol level if drank at the same rate and amount of units.

Yeah but there is cocaine added to bucky so it's a different type of drunk
