Certifying a house pre-services

    Hi sparks,

Quick question. A colleague has just got the keys for a 2 bed in castaheaney Dublin 15. There has been an absence of services for a few months to the property so he was told he needs a RECI to certify the dwelling in advance of services reconnection. What's involved for a RECI in relation to works ? I'm really curious as to what they need to do? And what cost approximately? Same colleague has been receiving replies from (I think) the trusted tradesmen site with prices ranging from €100-€400? Any advice welcome.

If it's been off for more than 6 months the esb want a cert. This involves getting the whole house tested to ensure that's it's safe to reconnect.
