Is a road public or private

    Have a road near the house, trying to find if it council owned or private, was the main road years ago long before tarred roads. Currently stone base with loads of clay on surface. Its in County Galway. How do I find out if it public/private/right of way?

    Ask Galway County Council.

    Some roads/lanes are both. The council may own the first bit and the continuation may be privately owned and lead to a dwelling or field.
