    Hi,

Can anyone advise of what broadband is available to get in Dublin 10 without a landline in the home? I know Virgin is one but they're quite pricey in comparison to others.

    Thanks

Whether you get the "landline" or not is irrelevant, the cost structure is the same with everyone other than Virgin. Standalone broadband for ~€40/mo from Vodafone is usually the cheapest.

The problem isnt really the cost or not wanting the phone, the problem is that I dont have a landline in my home and will have to get one installed and am being fobbed around by Sky about getting one installed. I'd prefer a wireless box that i could just plug into the socket like I had with Virgin, if that makes sense

I believe the term I'm looking for is I'd prefer a digital broadband provider then an analogue one

Nope, thats not what you mean.

Sky is the problem, they dont understand new line orders in the republic as they dont want to, the fees are too much for them. Use Vodafone or Eir and it wont be a problem.

You can opt for mobile internet (think broadband lite, slow as hell or very limited caps) or fixed wireless but that requires a dish on the side of the house and doesnt make economic sense within urban areas as you get slower for the same money.

Ahhh, appreciate the advice. Shall be getting onto Vodafone now! I think I'll stay clear of Eir, seeing the feedback on here from their customer support. Thanks again
