Non-hotel venue in Dublin City Centre

My fiancée and I will be getting married in February 2019 and are looking for a non-hotel venue in Dublin City Centre.
We're looking at Smock Alley at the moment, but they can't get a bar extension and we're not keen on having to switch venues at 11.
We're currently thinking ~120 guests and would like to source the catering and wine ourselves. We're getting married in City Hall so walking distance from there preferred but not a deal breaker either.
    Has anyone recommendations?

All I know is that booking a venue and getting outside caterers and wine separately always turns out very expensive and that’s why so many couples end up going with the hotel in the end.
But if money is no problem then you’ll get plenty of suggestions here as the day goes by!

Cliff Town House gets excellent reviews.

22 on South Anne Street seemed like a pretty cool venue and they are now doing weddings - you can decide if you want your own catering or for them to do it I think.. Holds up to 200 if i remember right..

McGrattans off Baggot Street do weddings, would cater for around 120 I think.

    Cleaver East
    Robertas
    37 Dawson Street

I considered Smock Alley catered by zaytoons, followed by renting a suite in the Clarence. Decided it was too much work in the end but it might suit you. . .

    Edited - clarence not clarion

I've seen weddings nearby in Cleaver East, the worksman's club, 10 ormond quay, fallon and byrne, oscars, odessa, the dean (not really hotelly!)

    King's Inn maybe.

I've been to a wedding in Smock Alley and it was beyond stunning, the venue changed to Drury building, which was actually pretty cool. The older attendants had a perfect opportunity to go home and not attend the afters while everyone who wanted could go and grab some food on the way if they want to.

We got married in FAllon & Byrne.. max number is 120 (10 tables x 12 people)

    Downside: no outdoor area
    Upside: Great venue, great food

They do a few different menus to suit different budgets

The option of outside catering can work out very expensive unless you're going for cheap eats....

I've been to a wedding with great catering - a lot of money - steaks etc... and I've been to one done on the cheap - pig on a spit / salads.....

The latter left a lot to be desired.

In fairness a pig on a spit can be pretty bland, boring and fatty. Not my favourite thing in the world.

It seems so simple at first. Not rocket science. Hire a venue. Pick a caterer. Pick a band. Bring decorations. Put them up.
    What’s not to like?

    Hi Draco,

I'd be keen to know where you chose in the end? Am looking into similar options ,yself and finding some issues with a large number in the City Centre!

    Any advice would be great.

    Thanks,
