Anytime your income changes you need to tell them, you sign a form agreeing to do so.

There are random checks but the onus is on you to inform them if there are any changes in your circumstances such as
1. You get a job
2. You move house
3. Someone moves in with you
4. You are sick and not available for work
5. You inherit or otherwise come into money
Etc.
If you don’t inform them then you may be in an overpayment and have to give the money back
