Have both AA and HE (polled) bulls at the moment, prefer the HE as his offspring are more docile, just like him. The AA spends his time digging craters in the corner of the field, although he is as quiet as the HE.

AA calves love to play hide and seek when a day or two old, does my head in! And when you wake them up they will always leg-it in the opposite direction of the cow......

They both bring suitable calves for an organic set-up, hardy, hit the ground running and easily finished without concentrates.

I now have quite a few AA cows out of Limx cows, and they are mad, worse than Lim on their own! But the HE calves I'm getting out of them are very quiet.

Soon in the market for another HE, I can recommend John Applebe in Clonakilty, he has both HE and AA.

Prefer HE as a breed myself.
Are docile, fair calving, decent sale value weather as weanlings or bringing to finish

AA bit light to be selling as weanlings. Not bad if bringing to finishing yourself. Lively calves

If you're weaning I'd go down the route of a parthenise serious demand for export. But if it's organic twill be hard to beat the traditional breeds. There is a reason Michael o Leary is running a herd of angus.
