a standing ovation for good ol'Kirk,

but wasn't he renowned for being a misogynist pest back in the day??

which is kind of ironic given the theme of the night:cool:

Made my blood boil watching it! What a bunch of hypocrites those Hollywood luvvies are!!

So, they dress up in black as a form of protest against the abuse meted out to women and children by
predators in the industry, yet they give a standing ovation to one of the worst beasts who operated in Hollywood
a few decades ago! You could not make it up!!

Kirk Douglas openly boasted about his misogyny and 'manly' behaviour towards women before it became non PC
to do so. It is widely reported that he violently raped Natalie Wood when she was only sixteen years old.
He allegedly beat her up so badly that she had to be hospitalised as a result.

Yet, on the very night when the luvvies decide to dress in black to 'make a statement' about the lecherous and
violent behaviour of people like Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, etc., they rise to their feet to applaud the
likes of Kirk Douglas! One could not blame Weinstein or Spacey for scratching their heads in bewilderment if they
had witnessed this. But, considering the reaction to Seth Meyers' 'jokes' about the two guys, it was obvious that they
have still a lot of support among the glitterati. The hypocrisy of that Golden Globe audience last night was mindblowing.

#metoo my eye!! Natalie Wood must have been spinning in her grave as her alleged rapist was feted and
honoured up on that stage.

and Catherine Zeta Jones adorning him with loving plaudits

if he wasn't her father in law she wouldn't be seen next to near an elderly wheelchair bound man

    it was quite simple nauseating

Nominating Live Shreiber 5 times in a row and not giving him the award is really taking the piss out of the guy.
