Can anyone recommend a laptop?

Hi folks,

A friend of mine is looking for help in purchasing a laptop.
He's not all that computer literate but is starting a basic computer course in January.

All he'll really be using it for is some general web browsing and some MS Office work. He doesn't really want to spend a huge amount on one but somewhere between €200 -€300.

He was looking at this one:

but I'm not sure as it's only 32gb storage.

Would that 32gb be eaten into straight away by programs or would it be available to him for storing his documents etc.?

I don't have a clue about that side of things at all, or what he should be looking for, so any help/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't get that. It's more like a netbook of 10 years ago than a real laptop. And yes the 32GB would be eaten fairly sharpish. They are meant to be just web access devices and not much else.

I'll have a look around the usual places to see if I can find something. The budget is quite low for a laptop.

Edit* Now he says his max is €250, and that it's ok if it's 2nd hand as long as it's good.
