Actually while cancelling they offered me an extra month free so I've extended mine for another month as I've managed to bag some great bargains with Prime. Especially pre-order games.

There is an option to have an email reminder sent three days before renewal, for those who are cancelling after the first month. It's under "Prime Membership" in your account section.

And if you do forget, cancel before you use amazon video/prime shipping and they're happy to refund you. I accidentally signed up for it monthly renewal on another account and they refunded

Thanks so much for the reminder, had totally forgot and would have been charged the 7.99 this week,

I cancelled the day the trial started. It remains valid for the month anyway

Do you get all the benefits Ireland as you do for the UK?

    Free Shipping etc?

Nope, you only get their Prime Delivery in the UK and NI. Video, music and digital stuff is also UK only (though a VPN can fix that).

If you don't have a parcel-forwarding service (Parcel Motel, Parcel Wizard, An Posts AddressPal, etc) nor a VPN, then Prime's not for you.

    Thanks for the headsup

Is Amazon prime the same as Amazon prime video?

I have amazon prime video for 2.99 per month & 5.99 after six months. Obviously I get prime video on the app but I also get free p&p on orders over 25 euro on Amazon UK.

Is amazon prime different to this?

Yes. Prime is much more - it actually includes Prime Video.

Bear in mind you actually LOSE the ability to get free delivery over £25 to Ireland (Super Saver) if you go Prime. Absolutely ridiculous.

    That is incorrect.

PRIME doesn't apply to anything sent to ROI. You will have the same options as normal without PRIME, standard or FREE postage.

I have a prime trial at the minute and I recently put through orders with a value of over £25 and have received free delivery to Ireland.

    Same here.

I'd be delighted if it wasn't true. When I signed up for Prime a while back and put anything into the basket > £25, Free Super Saver delivery did not appear, just a paid option (and all the Prime deliveries were charged). I emailed them to cancel it and once they'd done that, without changing anything in the basket, Free Super Saver appeared again. This was about 6 months ago mind you so it might have changed.

Oh, and it definately was something that qualified for that delivery too.

Not necessarily true, there is a bug in there somewhere. Here is a post I made earlier with an example of free shipping not being on offer to ROI for prime account holders.

I have 2 accounts, one prime and one non prime. With the exact same basket of goods I cannot get the free delivery option on prime whereas I can with non prime.

Free delivery doesn't pop up. You have to select delivery. Then you have the option of free delivery. It took my a long while to figure out I had free delivery & I paid a lot in delivery fees unnecessarily:mad:

That's it exactly, a bit hidden but free delivery of £25+ still remains for Irish Prime, I'm using it the whole time...

This is by far the best non-bargain post ever :)

Anyone know the link where you can cancel? I've not only tried the link for the six-month Irish trial, but also AUK and AUS but none seem to have my details listed. Very odd

I can't remember where the link is ... but I can remember that it was hard to find. I might have even emailed them in the end..

I cancelled a previous Prime Trial a while ago. Last week, during checkout for a purchase, an offer of Prime for 99p for one week popped up. I accepted this and immediately cancelled it again. Benefitted on this for two orders in terms of shipping speed. It is amazing how quickly they can actually dispatch and deliver for Amazon Prime customers compared to Amazon Pleb ones...
