Your insurance will let you swap it over, be aware though that after 50 days your insurer will inform Revenue if the car is still on UK plates. It's a hard game to get in to, you need to target stuff you can offload quick with a nice tidy sum for yourself, perhaps concentrate on hybrids or electrics. Up the north would be cheapest solution but smaller market of cars to choose from.

I cannot see an insurance company entertaining you bringing a few cars in every month especially an 18 year old. They will cope on after a few times I'd say and refuse to transfer it over eventually, they will deem you a motor trader and will require you to take out a motor trade policy. I'd guess that you have a snowball's chance in hell of getting a motor trade policy of your own at 18.

I'd doubt, the insurance company will see a pattern of frequent car changes on the policy and put 1 + 1 together. I think if it was that easy then legitimate car dealers wouldn't spend thousands on motor trade insurance every year.

I'd imagine you would need insurance as a dealer would have but you'd probably need to prove your a legit business. You could get the cars delivered but that obviously eats into your profits.

I had a trade policy in my own name a few years ago and it cost a few hundred a month. There is no point in even trying to do what you are hoping to do, it will end badly insurance wise.

What kind of capital have you to buy stock? Have you a premises? You'll need a TAN number if you want to import and sell a UK car in Ireland.

Selling cars isn't easy money like some seem to think. Been there, done that and went back to the day job, it's easier believe me unless you've some serious cash to do it. I have family who are heavily involved in the motor trade for decades on a large level and they didn't exactly encourage me to stay at it. The used car sales business is something that is becoming heavily oversubscribed and not by the best of our society I can assure you.

You'd also need to be registered with Revenue and get a TAN number.
