Sterling is really low atm, makes for excellent value up north. I want to buy 2 bikes -one for my 18 year old and one for my 14 year old. Need to have them by the 25th so running out of time.

I have no idea which shops I should be looking at up north - any suggestions please?

Are you talking about buying from the likes of Halfords or an actual bike specialist shop?

Also what part of NI would you be hoping to buy from.

I bought my last bike from http://www.jmccycles.com in Dromintee a few months ago. Just make sure you check all bolts (including cranks) afterwards. I learnt the hard way when my crank came off a few weeks ago. Great prices if you are going with cash. I paid in Euro and saved 37.7% on the price of the same bike down here.

I would echo the Slane Cycles suggestion, but would add the Chain Reaction store is only 5 mins or so away, and it would be worth spending a bit of time in both if you're in the Belfast area

Both have websites for you to browse beforehand, and both deliver into Ireland at sterling prices if you decide to shop online

Have used Dave Kane cycles http://www.davekanecycles.com and McConvey Cycles http://www.mcconveycycles.com in the past. They may not have the stock levels of chainreaction or slane cycles but excellent customer service
