unlock samsung j3 from verizon network

    Hi All

    Got a phone thats locked to verizon network from my sister who is US based. 2 questions
    Can I unlock it for Irish network sim card (not sure who yet)
    where woudl I go about getting it unlocked

    Phone is useless for any non-US based networks.
    Verizon use CDMA, not GSM based networks like those in EU, Asia.

    I don't know if that's completely true. I think newer devices can connect to both networks. I had a friend over from NZ recently who was using a Sprint USA (CDMA) Galaxy S5 on NZ and EU GSM networks.

    I think it may need to be unlocked from the Verizon network by Verizon before it can be used here. That, or get reading on XDA and figure it out.

    Depends on the model number and the year - I think there are versions released each year for the past 3 years
