Deutsche Post DHL to An Post

Does anyone know how long it should take for a parcel from Deutsche Post DHL?

Their tracking indicates that it left Germany last Friday and was being passed over to An Post on Monday. Their tracking number is not compatible with An Post so I can't check it up on this end.

Should I be concerned or is it normal? Thanks

The tracking number from Deutsche Post should work in An Post, it does take about a week to get here, it should appear over the weekend or early next week.

It's just a 12 digit number. I thought they needed 2 letters at the start and end?

A similar issue maybe : I've a package, with DHL, that's been sitting at a carrier facility in Germany since Saturday. No updates since then so not sure if I should be worried.

I had a package coming from Germany with Deutsche Post. It arrived in Portlaoise last Saturday and wasn't delivered until yesterday. Before anything I bought from Germany was always delivered the day after it arrived in Ireland. Everything I've bought from the UK recently has arrived very quickly so maybe the delay is in Portlaoise.

the 12 digit number is a international number. the numbers with letters at the start and end are postal generally and stand for the service and the country. what happens is that the international code is overlabeled with a postal code.

so for instance RL555555555IE is a Irish reg letter (RL is the service and ie is the country)

It'll suddenly pop up on an Post when it hits Portlaoise. My last one took five days from notification of shipping to show on the tracking an Post

That will work in anpost website, but won't show online until it gets scanned when it gets to Ireland.

Of all the services I have found DHL to An Post to be abysmal for some reason. I regularly get deliveries from Germany and this route regularly takes up to 2 weeks.

About a week in my experience and the An Post tracking site does not work.

However DHL tracking gets updated with Irish data, have a look at my most recent one:

    https://nolp.dhl.de/nextt-online-public/set_identcodes.do?idc=CY739931029DE

    Exactly a week.

Thanks everyone. The parcel arrived anyway. It eventually did show up on the An Post website and was delivered the next day.

Same here! Mine has been sitting in their parcel facility in Koln since the 8th, messaged dhl and they gave me an estimated delivery date of 22nd December!

I have a package from amazon that left Germany on Friday but still hasn’t arrived in Ireland. It’s due to be delivered by Thursday, so we’ll see.

This happens all the time. The stuff arrives in Portlaoise from Germany and is essentially left in the corner for a few days before An Post scan it in because they 'allowed' up to 'X' days to deliver - i.e. they can sit on it for a couple of days and it'll still be 'on time' so that's exactly what they do! Admitted to me by An Post....

Received mine yesterday, it arrived in Portlaoise in the afternoon of the 16th, and on to Athlone mail centre that evening, so not too bad - once it finally arrived in Ireland!

I've a parcel sitting in portlaoise since Friday. It's Tuesday and it hasn't moved once according to their tracking. Mildly annoying. Kind of expected it yesterday. Sure take your time lads, no rush!

It is very poor in my opinion. Going in the opposite direction it took three weeks for a package of mine to get from Ireland to Germany via An Post and DHL.

It was sitting in Heathrow for two weeks according to tracking. When I complained to An Post, suddenly two days later it was delivered (it cost €45 to ship).

Parcel left portlaoise at 130 this morning. An I right to assume it will turn up today? Or is that too much to ask for?

Im finding more and more that An Post are not to blame for a lot of the delays. Part of the problem being the way some companies print their address labels it is easy to misdirect a parcel.

Amazon parcels recently dont have a full address label. If you live 123 main rd Dublin quite often the first digit is missing so delivery person unless familiar will try 23. If it is for example 45 and the 4 is missing and he or she is not familiar are on a chase to try and deliver the item. Even some of the eircodes have been missing.

My parcel arrived in Portlaoise and had to go through customs but I had it 24 hours later. A number of other parcels like previous posters were stuck in Heathrow and Manchester for days

As an example, I have a package on the way from Germany at the moment with Deutsche Post. Their tracking shows that it arrived in Ireland two days ago. As of yet, it's not showing on An Posts' system as the lazy good-for-nothings in Portlaoise no doubt have it sitting in the warehouse until they scan it in to meet the end of the delivery timeline. And this is the crowd who the recent ~33% increase in the price of a stamp is going to?!

I ordered from a gernan shop last week and it was despatched last week with a tracking number. The tracking number brings me to Deutsche post.de or something like that. The tracking says it was scanned at country of destination - Ireland on the 3rd of September.

The tracking number still doesn't show on the an post tracking and still no upt or mail delivery. The days postal delivery is gone now. Hopefully I will get something tomorrow or Friday.

I woke in the middle of the night and I was awake for a while. I decided to check tracking on the an post site with this item. Tracking information definitely came up. It said item accepted in Dublin on the 5th of September at 13.33 or a time like that.

I checked tracking this morning to see if it will be delivered to me this morning and the tract number isn't working any more on an post. Item or number not recognized or something like that.

Package was delivered earlier and showed up eventually on an post tracking.

Same experience as me - they chuck it into the corner because they don't HAVE to deliver it yet.
