Can anyone recommend me a nice bourbon to buy.

I like Jack & Coke but would like to try something different and possibly a smooth one that can be drank without a mixer.

Something around the Jack Daniels price point would be fine. I have an O'Briens locally and the usual supermarkets if that helps.

    Many thanks!

Try a bourbon called "Buffalo Trace" it is rather good, but I have no idea how much it costs.

Have a look at Woodford Reserve, may be a bit more expensive (€38) than JD but its well regarded.
Its owned by the same holding company that owns Jack Daniels

I LOVE the Buffalo Trace! The Four Roses and Knob Creek are pretty good, although I don't drink them as much as the Buffalo Trace.

Thanks for all the replies, much appreciated.

You're making this hard for me now!!!

If it helps, I quite like a smoother almost vanilla taste/finish. Would any of the above recommendations be close to this type?

    Thanks again!

I can second the Bulleit Bourbon. Drank a good bit of it any time I was in London, think you could buy it in Sainsburys.

At your price point Buffalo Trace is a good choice. Maker’s Mark at €40 from O’Briens is good value too. Gentleman Jack from Jack Daniels, although technically not a bourbon, would have nice vanilla notes.

Aldi had Jefferson’s Reserve on offer recently at a very good price, but I don’t know if there’s any left.

I’m personally not that crazy on Bulleit, I find it a little less smooth and more spicy due to the higher rye content. Still good though.

Another vote for Maker's Mark, imo it's definitely worth the extra few euro that you'd spend on Buffalo Trace.
