Ok so my puppy is 13 weeks old and, a bit gross but he has just eaten a tampon about a half hour ago.

Now he's pretty big for his age he's a mix of a collie & a lab..

I don't know what to do, wondering if anyone can help me out, I don't drive so I don't know how I would get him to a vet, but from what I've read online, it's mixed, saying I should just wait to see if he passes it or shows any symptoms of a blockage!

I just don't know what to do he seems fine any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Why don't you ring your nearest vet and ask their opinion and if they ask you to bring the pupster in then you could perhaps ask a friend or family member to drive

hey sorry for the late reply, i rang the local vet but they were closed & the closest vet open to me was about 50 minutes away from where i live. i couldn't get a lift into them, so i just freaked out for the next couple of hours hoping to god he'd just pass it.

then the snow came, i inspected his.. business, as much as i could but i never saw it come out. but since, he's been eating well, going to the toilet alright, he usually has on & off diarrhea (TMI i know, sorry! haha) so it wasn't constant diarrhea/constipation, he doesn't look bloated & doesn't seem to be suffering from a sore stomach. so i really hope he passed it but i didn't see it.

could it be possible that his digestive system could seem like it's okay but it could still be inside him?

i know i should bring him to a vet but because i live rural & don't drive it's not easy for me to get him to a vet (and i feel so guilty because i seem to not be a responsible owner).

fingers crossed he's okay, if he did start showing visible signs of illness i would honestly carry him to the vet, his health and wellbeing is of utmost importance to me

OP, he definitely needs to be seen by a vet. It's just not worth risking it if you haven't found it in his 'business'.

OP, if you know that you're puppy definitely ate it and you haven't come across it yet, I would definitely bring your puppy to the vet. It may still be in there not causing a blockage yet but may cause untold damage if left in there moving through its digestive system and then gets stuck. I'd also be talking to my vet about the on/off diarrhea, that's not normal.

I had an adult Labrador in my care last year, he was with me 5 days and then surprised me by throwing up a black, slightly chewed up dog leash minus the hardware (wasn't one of my own), he was eating and toileting fine. Just be mindful. Puppies are brats and like to scare us.

I'd give them a buzz when they're open OP. They'll be able to chat to you about their payment options and if you are rural and you're walking in, they might be able to stop by your house on a call. No promises, but my vet often does it if it's something non-urgent and he's passing me (he does live fairly close by and is related to me mind you!).
