    Did anyone her the Air Raid siren go off this morning, a little before 8?

    Is it the Russians?

    The oil tanks do tests every now and again to make sure they are ready in case of emergency

    Missed this mornings. Heard it again maybe an hour or so ago, and vaguely wondered if I was supposed to know what to do when it goes off (I don't).

    Fire station used to have a siren to summon in staff. Twas a long time ago before pagers n mobiles etc. Could be heard in Newcastle sometimes.
