Assaulted by Little Girl, Should I Call the Police?

My sister has downs syndrome, I was walking with her through a park yesterday when a little girl began making fun of her. I'm a 21 year old man, this little girl was 10 years old (she mentioned this fact during the assault). She was clipping at my sister's heels trying to trip her up and was calling her "retard" and "ugly" much to the amusement of her sheep friends and my sister started crying.

I warned her several times to stop but she continued, I ended up grabbing her by the arm and telling her off (gently, as she looked 5 stone at most). She spat at me and I pushed her over, she got up and began punching me and we both fell to the ground. She wrapped her thighs around my waist and squeezed until I was submitting. She ignored this submission and didn't let go for a very long time, maybe 5 minutes. She cracked 2 of my ribs and I wet myself, I had to go to the hospital. I don't understand what a 10 year old girl would want with size 14 shoes, but she took my shoes afterwards too.

She was wearing primary school uniform and I recognise the school, I haven't called the police and am undecided on whether to do that or not. A) This is a pretty unbelievable story, I don't think the police would believe me. I barely believe me B) I don't think they would do anything. She's a little girl and I was the first to use physical force.

Is it worth calling the police? I'm almost 99% sure nothing will be done about it

I would call the school - if you/they can identify her then at least her parents will know the kind or shi* she's up to and at the very least she wont do it again. It sounds like you used reasonable force - you were defending your sister & indeed yourself. It's a very difficult balance when you're dealing with a child but if you tell it like it happened you shouldn't face any recriminations.

I'd definitely make a report of some sorts as if the girl is like this you can just imagine what type of scum the parents are - so a report to have on record what happened in case she makes up a different story to her parents and they then make a report.

An Irish man with size 14 shoes would be around 6ft6 +. This is pure nonsense.
