How much in royalties does Irish radio have to pay?

I always remember hearing a figure many moons ago that BBC Radio paid something like £80+ in royalties every time they played a song.

Does anyone know how much the current rate is, specifically for Irish broadcasters?

I get the feeling there has been the drive away from actually playing mostly music on Irish radio in the last decade or so, and chatting more, and wondering if its a cost saving thing?

It is generally a fixed % of a stations income, subject to adjustments. How accurately any cash is handed over according to actual airplay levels is another story for another day

BBC have a block deal for music copyright across TV and radio so the figures would not be even close to £80.

I believe the music royalties, for community radio at least, are funded by the dstate
