Russian Tourist Visa

I'm planning a trip to St. Petersburg next year with a few friends and we're organising visas now. From what I've read online it seems we need an invitation from the hotel we'll be staying in, travel insurance documents and a passport photo. Then we each have to fill out the form here and submit everything, including our passports, along with a postal order for €86(?) to the Russian consulate in Dublin.

Have I got that right? How long does it normally take and do we need to give them our flight details as well?
