    Hi all, how you doing.?

i got an open fire place with back boiler (think its stardard 16 - 18 in size).
it as a natural stone fire place.

im thinking off putting in a insert stove back boiler (17kw total.. think its like 14 to water & 3 to room..) this will power X rads.

we got a friend of a friend (plumber) coming down this week, we also went into a place that sell these units, & they had 1 heated up & my god the heat off it was amazing.

they said i have to use marble / granite / cast surround with a slight gap for expansion.

il have to tear down my stone fire place to remove the old back boiler & fit the new insert.

but can i re-build my stone fireplace to the new insert.?

if so will it be safe, stones dont expand .. the explode when heated.. this correct.?

can i put the sones back in..?

    any idea's please.

    thanks all.
