Hi, I'm buying a small house and the gas boiler is in a cupboard on the wall about 2-3 feet from a wood burning stove. Is this allowed? Seems a bit dangerous to me. Any advice really appreciated. Thanks, Aoife

Why do you think its dangerous?
Most gas boilers are in kitchens less than 3 feet from ovens, hobs, microwaves etc

If its something that would have you worried, you could fit the usual smoke detectors and CO alarm (if not already fitted) or, you could move the boiler to another room but this will be a considerable expense.

    Hi Aoife.
That distance should be fine as long as there are the proper clearances around the boiler in the cupboard.
Really you should have a Registered Gas Installer in your area to do a cert 3 for you and complete a full safety inspection on the system.

If you are buying then the sellers may have that cert as part of their yearly service on the gas system, which will show that it is safe.
Or alternatively if they did not hqve the system maintained properly.

Google RGII and you will get an engineer in your area.
