Baffling problem with HDMI from Sky box!

Sky box is Amstrad DRX-890 and if HDMI output is connected directly to TV input all is fine. However, if I connect it via my Home Cinema (Panasonic BTT-362) --nothing! I know I can route the Sky box audio via the HC over Optical Toslink cable and if I do it works OK but not as convenient as HDMI. Anyone got any ideas as…

Just in case anyone experiences a similar fault; my Sky box was replaced today for a problem with disk access and now my HDMI output behaves normally so fault was in Sky box all along!
