Replaceing windows

We are looking at replacing the windows/doors in the house including a larger window on the stairs to improve light.

We had a guy out from Global home improvements/Global windows and felt he was pushing a hard sell.
    RRP = 41K
    Less winter discount 26K
Less the on the day discount 23K
No idea what the price would be after the HRI Scheme

Just the front/North face would be 16K
The product impressed us [reinforced frame & high quality hinge] but the hard sell really turned me off.

Can anyone recommend other companies that would have a good quality product with proper installation ?
Even someone to talk us through options upvc or thermally broken aluminum - double/triple glaze

The house was built in 90 with single glaze wood frame and in 91 the builder put thin double glass in the original wood frame.

    Based in Noth Kildare/West Dublin

On the list to ring are
    Munsterjoinery
    Keane windows
    Wright windows
    Emerald windows

    Thanks in advance

That seems like a lot of money for double glazing

https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=186840 (old thread but kinda relevant if you look at the OP)

Also gotta factor in the fact that is the triple glazing really worth that extra cost

I used Monasterevin Windows Systems, 6k for a whole house on 3 bed house, including front door and rear double opening doors.

So just to update we had 2 more companies out with both quotes around the 11K mark and we will be visiting one companies showroom in the new year.
Both recommended composite doors for the rear with 50% glass.
