Four tyres, one bubble

Last March I was on my winter tyres and went over a pothole, noticed a small bubble on the sidewall some time later. Instead on replacing the tyre I just put on my summer set as it was getting warmer anyway.

Fast forward and its time to put the winters on again... but I can't find the bubble on any of the four tyres. I had taken the pressure of the tyres down to 15-20psi while they were off the car. But now even if I pump them up to 40psi the bubble is not appearing.

Ideas? Did the tyre fairies miracoulsly fix my tyre? :pac: I don't want to start driving around and get a blowout at what will probably end up being the worst possible occasion.

Pump the tyres up to 50psi and see if it appears. When the wheels are on a car you have the additional weight of the car on themand so the bulge may appear.

Pressure is pressure - the weight of.thr car doesn't make a difference

The tyres will flex with the weight of the car .
You know the old joke the tyre is only flat at the bottom

Yeah but the weight of the car may show up a weakness in the tyres. Tyres are not solid/rigid, they deform and flex under weight.

My question is how do I figure out which one to replace with as little risk as possible... it'd be crazy to replace all four

Get them inspected in a tyre shop.

Fit them to the car and drive the car around the block. Check them again and it's likely the defect will show back up.

    ....Russian Roulette otherwise though....

As the others said you have to run around at slow speed on them see it turns up again.
