noooo I have such a bad wisdom tooth infection - well.. bottom left wisdom tooth was sore for a few days ... then was grand yesterday - but woke up to hell this morn.. went to a dentist (tg i got one that works on sat and mine does not).. he said there is an abscess - gum inflamed.. prescribed augmentin and flagyl (which i have now learnt that I cannot take due to a contraindication).. and difine.,. have been taking meds since 1pm - but still in agony.. eating is difficult.. was in so much pain earlier I just cried.. will go to see my own dentist on mon morn., Dentist I went to see today said that if i get another infection that i should get it extracted.

I have had 2 upper WT extracted - by dentist - but what about removal of WT on lower jaw? does that need to be extracted by a surgeon? And should I wait for infection to clear before having it extracted?

IANAD, but I find Nurofen Plus good for severe toothache.

Try drinking cold water, that helped me previously.

Augmentin and Flagyl are compatible together! I had them in combination for a serious appendix burst a few years ago. IIRC the Flagyl targets a specific strain of bactria.

NF is a good recommendation also, if not take paracetamol just before you go to sleep, it has a small window where it makes you sleepy that you can use.

like i said i have since learnt that I cannot take the flagyl due to a contraindication - thankfully i read the leaflet..
I am hoping that the augmentin will have effect anyway..

i think that i am getting more benefit from the paracetamol than the difine..

    anyway hope to sleep tonight
