Upgrade or repair

I have a Huawei Ascend G7, it's about two years old now. It wont connect or randomly loses internet data, i had it with phone repair place and after messing me around for two days says can't be fixed

E35 was quoted to repair it if could be done, asking a fella who worked in a repair place and said likely the dock was being changed.

SO

Do i try another place or get a new phone? I have seen the Huawei P8 Lite 2017 thread, i am with vodafone but sure there is some way to get it for E109

Basically, i need

• A good camera is a MUST, people comment all the time on pics from the G7 being great.
• Then just a good phone that you can have heavy apps like facebook etc running with no lag
• Would like some new tech, like faster charging etc, but then not essential as have good power bank/car charger, so if I get no new tech so be it

Do you have a Micro SD card in?

You should be able to find somebody that can flash a new Rom for free easily enough if you are unable to do so yourself.
Failing that, if you are looking for advice on a new phone that fits your requirements.

I would try the fixes above first, there may even be an app that somebody recommends as a temp fix. If any of those do not work, maybe bring it to a better repair store than the one that you have tried.
It is always better to get another quote anyway

Thanks very much for the detailed reply and help.

For some strange and very weird reason when i took off a tweaked stock rom and put a stock(spanish version) the data and WIFI work(before WIFI worked, but today when I got it back it couldn't get a IP address)

I put an app on it(L Speed) to see if it can turn a stock into almost like the tweaked one i had, as i find stock on its own lags a lot. Fingers crossed that works and no more connectivity issues

If you're wondering why Spanish, HTCmania is a great forum for ROMs etc for this phone(found it via XDA recommending boo_guar70 tweaked stock ROMS) XDA is kinda dead as there is some hardware issue where the mobile data doesnt work right in the US(where XDA is based)

I will keep an eye out on those forums and also bargain alerts, i wouldn't go chinese again, Got a elephone and was crap, location all over the shop, lies about specs and battery would go from 100-30ish and stay there for days

I think after the dealing with this repair place and the local one was effort with just unlocking, id likely replace it if/when it's acting up, handy to have half decent backup phone I suppose,
