Hey so i ordered a graphics card of amazon a week ago or so, It arrived today, However they sent me the wrong (far weaker) older model accidentally.

So im probs gonna return it n all but i was wondering if its possible to have amazon send you the right item instead of a refund because i ordered the graphics card during black friday or something at a pretty good discount, So obviously ide rather have them send me the right item rather than giving me a refund.

anyone know if this is possible?

Amazon have a great customer service, they have a chat option on the help pages, contact them and explain the issue, if you ordered the correct card but they sent you something else if they have it in stock they will send you the correct card, depending on the price they might offer you to keep it but if you have to return they will send you labels after you post them you contact them to get the postage refunded. In the other side if you ordered the wrong card they offer you a refund but you will need to place a new order probably at the price today.

I had a damaged item, same process.

Speak to them and they will post you out the proper one FREE of charge and you have 30 days to return the one you have for FREE. If you do not post it back they charge you for the replacement.

They do that because people can't be trusted and there are people out there who will say they want a replacement just for the sake of it.

I've two replacement items coming tomorrow(one replaced without needing to return one) one had to be returned last Friday.

Hey, yea i was hoping to be able to get a replacement, just too get still get a good deal out of it. And also weirdly my package arrived without an amazon shipping box or anything, or it being sealed at all for that matter, would that qualify as "damaged"?

Exact same thing happened to me, ordered a gtx 1080 but there was a 1060 in the 1080's box (some1 pulling a fast one in returns i think as both msi cards look similar).
However mine was a gift so I did not actually open the box for 3 months after purchase.

I simply rang up amazon and they were great. returned the card for a full refund and ordered a new one. no problems at all with the second card (actually got it for 50 cheaper too).

They did also give me the option of an exchange rather than a refund but they said that would take longer and i didn't want to wait :)

No it's being happening a lot this year(was reading about it on Twitter) and it is because Amazon are trying to reduce their waste/landfill etc.

The way around it, they say, is to mark the item as "Gift" but not Gift Wrapped(as that adds a charge).

yea man its weird tho, like the thing arrived at my door, no amazon box or anything, the outside was scuffed to hell and there wasnt even a seal on it or anything, it even had the sticker for the right gpu on the side lol
