Decking around a mobile

    Hi all,

We are desperate to get some raised decking around the front of our mobile home to stop the cats from going under and pooing all over the place.

We were going to attempt it ourselves but I am 5/6 months pregnant and my partner has never attempted such a project. Where would I find someone handy to give us a hand? I would rather not go down the route of builders or carpenters because of the price and we would both be keen to learn and help so would rather pay someone a bit of cash.

We are in North County Dublin... Any ideas?

If there's a local men's shed nearby I'm sure there would be a few men there willing to take on a project like that?

Have men’s shed the qualifications and insurance to do this?

Don't know. A lot of men at my local one are retired carpenters. Every where would be different obviously. No harm enquiring.

I once heard its always a good idea to leave small gaps in decking to let rain through, otherwise rats see it as a nice place to nest.

If they aren't receiving protection from the elements, they are less likely to stay there.

    Worth bearing in mind?
