Oil co delivered more than I need

Oil company delivered way more Gas Oil (Green Diesel) than I needed during the week. We plan to change the boiler next summer, and wont need the Gas Oil at that point.

As things stand, will be left with 500l in that tank.

I thought I was ordering 1000, they delivered 1400l. Its 'you said, I said'.

Any thoughts on what to do here. Company wont take it back.

did you think your tank only held 1000l

The order options are either by amount (e.g. 1000l) or to fill the tank. I thought I had ordered 1000l, they filled the tank - 1400l.

Strange usually only put in what you asked for, think my tank wouldn't take 1400l ,but could be wrong.

if you are a regular customer with this company then imho common sense should prevail

what was/is your regular order qty if its 1000l then you have a good case

How do you know you won't need more than 1000L? It may be a very cold winter...

If you'd ordered and been given 1000L and it was a very mild winter and you only used 600L, what would you do then? Well, do the same now.
