Who can I order from online? I don't want one of those eBay ones since I had them before.

    Are they stainless steel buckles?

Funny enough. Or not. I've a couple of Phoenix G10/"NATO" straps, the original of the species(in nylon anyway, the design goes back to WW1) and official UK MOD supplier from the 80's and 90's and they had plated buckles back then. The colour slightly varies too. Much stiffer than most NATOs today too(and slightly longer).

TBH for me and I'm long a fan of this style strap, I nearly always went on price. Did I notice a difference between a NATO for a fiver or one for 30 quid? Yes, but rarely warranting the 25 quid difference. I did find the Hadley Roma ones very nice, though heavy duty and thick so won't suit all watches(Fixed bar "mil" watches have longer lugs to allow for a one piece strap), but would recommend, though think they're not made any more.

I've seen and felt a couple of the daftly priced Omega "NATO" straps and they're better than average and the buckles and furniture are nice, but the price they charge is daylight robbery. With menace. :D

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

I get mine from Timefactors, Watchgecko and Watch Obsession.

I get mine from Timefactors, Cousins and, whilst I have never bought a Phoenix NATO, I have several that came with watch purchases. The only NATO I've been unhappy with was bought from RLT Watches (who seem to have some self-awareness as they don't seem to sell them any more).

natostrapco is where I get mine, usually have a discount if buying a few at a time or on special holidays in USA.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Cheapestnatostraps have good service, but be wary of their basic straps which can be hard and scratchy. The 'premium' Natos are worth the couple of quid extra.

I just received my order from watchgecko today .Im delighted with it all. the straps , the service, the prices , the speed of delivery , I really can't praise them enough.
I ordered one stainless steel strap , a leather with zulu style buckle , a divers strap and got a free nato strap as the order was over £50 .
Everything was very well packaged with the steel strap in a watch box and the nato is a much better quality than the cheap and cheerful ones I've been buying.
Well worth placing an order with them .

I've got NATO straps from Watchgecko, CWC, Timefactors, Crown & Buckle and rubber straps from Yellowdog Watchstraps. All fine quality wise.

Something I've noticed on some "premium" straps is that the buckles attach using a spring bar, given one of the benefits of this type of strap is that you won't lose your watch in the event of a single spring bar breaking, attaching the buckle via a spring bar seems silly to me. I always make sure there's a "normal", formed wire type buckle. The Timefactors straps appear at first glance to have a spring bar but the bar is actually permanently pressed into the buckle - they're never coming off.

Extra Long version of CWC - plenty long for over a suit

And long enough to wear doubled back when on the wrist - and watch sits directly on wrist for a lower profile too

Custom rubber straps from Yellowdog Watchstraps (only do leather and rubber, no nylon)
