    Hi,
I think that this is the cheapest way to get TV + Broadband.
Get Saor free TV (I am not too worried about which stations I get)
Then get a provider to supply broadband only.

Is this the cheapest way to get TV + Broadband?

    Thanks in advance!

Yes, probably is. More upfront cost to setup Saorview antenna and decoder, but no ongoing costs.

If you want you can get a combi Free to air and Saorview tuner allowing a chunk more channels for no monthly bill.

Thanks for reply. Whydo more people not do it this way then?

Lots of people do, and have done for many years ;)

    Others ....
    Because they believe the hype?
Because they do not investigate their options?
Because they believe if they are paying then it must be soooo much better than free?
(some want access to specific subscription channels)
Your guess is as good as mine :)

Possibly because they want to watch live sports reliably in the best quality available. If you like watching premier league or golf or even some GAA matches during the summer then Sky Sports is the only legal way to watch them.

That’s certainly my reason for paying for Sky Q, it’s also a fantastic user experience compared with the more basic FTA services but ultimately if FTA fulfills your needs then there is of course no reason to pay any monthly fees to watch RTE and other FTA channels on a pay tv platform
