Hello. I am trying to figure out how to insulate 2 bedrooms in my house. Semi detached, cavity block. The current insulation is some kind of glass wool rolled between a wooden frame. I have removed the plaster board am trying to figure out how to proceed. I do not want to take down the wooden framework. I was planning on getting solid 60mm insulation boards and wedgeing them between the wooden frames then covering with plaster board an applying skim coat. I know this is not perfect just trying to find out if it will be better than what I have and any tips how to proceed. Do I push the boards against the external wall or leave an air gap. Do I need to put up a dpm and if so where?? Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Why are you removing the existing insulation?

I needed to remove plaster board to check out walls for cracks (some settling after extension underneath). Rooms are cold so wanted to do best job I can with it before I close it up.
