Brasserie / the med bar

    hi Just found out Brasserie / the med bar is closed. any idea if this is temporary or permanent? what happened? I thought they had really good food and music and were doing well!

    That should give you your info, closed a few months now. I'm actually surprised it hasn't been snapped up yet as I'd always thought it was one of the busier pubs in town.

    It does look like the bar and restaurant are separate entities, so maybe thats the stumbling block for potential buyers.

    The company went into receivership in late June, due to debts racked up by sister pub Toast in Rathmines. The Med wasn't struggling by itself, but that's the way business goes.

    I've heard that the bar has been sold recently, but I'm not sure on that yet.
