I’d try an easy calving LM, <4% CD such as EBY @ Dovea

Have a look thr0ugh them and maybe use the easy calving lim bulls only on the bigger, more developed heifers with the wider hips.

Stay away from those pricks of Angus anyway.
Plenty of AI limos available that are suitable for Heifers

It depends on if there is a market locally for AA. Here in the North West they sell quite well.

I know some on here have a serious problem with AA but I had 6 this year from 1st calvers. They were all born in Feb/March and were between 340kg to 410kgs when sold. Averaged 2.35 per kg which inst bad this year.

All the mothers were back in calf within 6 weeks so in my opinion AA or Saler are both great options for a heifer calving at 24mths. I would use Lm on heifers if they had the size though.

I’d try an easy calving LM,

Mogeely Joe would be only angus I would use..if you plan to keep their daughters you will have a polled daughter save on de horning

    Zag lim, fifty cent sim,

Had a zag calf this morning. Small would be the best adjective. About 10 days before his time

You won't know it in a few weeks.

Indeed. ZAG calves are small at birth, but very vigorous and thrive well.

using a lim on them they will throw black lim calves.....depending what part of the country you are in they will be treated like AA come sale time

Not necessarily, I've a share of black limo cows and a high percentage come red. There isn't many will treat a limo as an aa and if they do it would at least treated as an exceptional aa.

Use gamin from bova on heifers here super handy calf and after 10 days shape up to U grade stock.have an eby calf out of a pure lim and not the quality of the gamin heifer born the same time out of similar Bred heifers

slightly off the point. anyone have any opinions on red angus pedigree . was thinking of dabbling in a few pedigrees and thought they might be something slightly different

Popular for suckler especially Cross with limo as keep the red colour.
More a bull for suckler men than dairy as they are harder calving in general..always exceptions
They make good money as even at elite last week a red made 3500 and by red standard he was relatively light boned as off luddenmore fiona so more an accidental red rather than black.

red angus seem to be in vogue a bit at present
